Self Catering Cottages in Powys: 3 Holiday Lodges with hot tubs near Newtown

Surrounded by farmland, these three log houses each sleep 6 comfortably, with the added luxury of a hot tub and steam sauna. Built from sustainable sourced European yellow pine, each holiday lodge is unique, with eco features of  solar panels and ground source heating.

All light bulbs are low energy.

Actively involved in recycling of paper, glass and cans.

Interior
Each of the three holiday lodges has a beautiful open plan kitchen where you can test your culinary skills with local produce, dining area and lounge. Each fully fitted kitchen includes a dishwasher plus washing machine.  A double en-suite bedroom and a twin bedroom are also downstairs. Upstairs is the king-size master en-suite bedroom and a mezzanine level lounge area with sofa bed. Each cabin has a steam sauna shower, 2 LCD flat screen TVs and a DVD player.

Linen and towels included (except hot tub towels). Cots and highchairs are available upon request at time of booking. Sorry - No Pets Allowed.

Outside
An upstairs balcony provides a seating area with woodland views. Ample parking for 2 vehicles at each lodge. Surrounding each log cabin is a carefully planted, naturalistic landscaped area including fruit bearing trees, and grassed area perfect for the children to play. A short walk takes you down to the pond and campfire where toasting marshmallows under the stars is a must.

Local area
Carno, is on the main A470 north south road through the region of Powys. Once home to the Laura Ashley textile factory. The attractive market town of Llanidloes is worth a visit, as is Newtown which straddles the River Severn surrounded by the rolling hills of the Welsh Marches. It boasts some attractive black and white timbered buildings offering glimpses of its successful past as a centre for wool and fine barley production and breweries. It has a range of good shops, pleasant riverside walks and a variety of pubs and cafes.

This region of Mid Wales is great for walking, hiking, mountain biking, cycling and fishing. Alternate activities nearby include golf, shooting, fishing and rally driving at the Higgins Rally School, Carno.
