2 character self catering holiday cottages in the Welsh Borders

Cider Mill Cottage and Gardeners Cottage are two charming individual and privately situated self catering holiday cottages of great character in the beautiful, unspoilt Wye Valley. They are situated in the grounds of Garraway House, the owners’ Grade II listed home, and both have been recently restored to a high standard. Each lies within its own attractive garden, with views across the owners’ fields to a peaceful wooded valley. The cottages can be let together for larger parties.

Weekly Rental £350-£800

Sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms. Two en-suite bathrooms and a third family bathroom.

Gardeners Cottage is a Victorian conversion of a 17th century barn which formed the coach house, Head Gardener’s house and coachman’s dwelling for the estate. The buildings have been amalgamated to form a very pleasant spacious cottage with large windows.

It has a large sunny sitting room with French windows opening onto the garden. There are three sofas and several easy chairs, a writing desk and an efficient log burning fire.

The dining room seats 10-12, so the two cottages can be rented together for large parties and everyone can relax and eat together.

The well-equipped kitchen has pale yellow fitted units incorporating a very large fridge and a smaller freezer unit, suitable for large families. There is a downstairs cloakroom with a washbasin and toilet.

The four bedrooms include two with ensuite facilities and all have both a bath and a shower. In the main house are a kingsize, a double and a twin bedroom with an additional en-suite double bedroom in a newly-restored, attractive garden annexe connected to the cottage by a well-lit, lavender-lined pathway. It offers privacy and peace, particularly enjoyed by older guests. All the double rooms have walk-in wardrobes and all bedrooms enjoy east facing windows for morning sun.

Well behaved pets and smokers are accepted, although smoking is not allowed upstairs.
