Local area
This Welsh holiday cottage is only 3 miles from Abergavenny in the border county of Monmouthshire South Wales. The Welsh Borders are easily accessed from the south, via the M4, and from the Midlands being only 50 minutes off the M5.
In the Usk Valley, a less well known area than the Wye Valley but equally beautiful, this self catering accommodation has a variety of great walks, lovely drives, wildlife and a long history on the doorstep. The Usk Valley crosses from the county of Powys into the ancient kingdom of Gwent. From Abergavenny it meanders past quiet hamlets and villages; the historic market town of Usk whose history is recorded back to Roman times, the former Roman fortress of Isca, now Caerleon, and enters the Severn Estuary at Newport. Crickhowell is a beautiful historic town, set in the Brecon Beacons National Park with an abundance of outdoor activities, an interesting array of excellent shops and a wide choice of good food.
Other places of interest can be visited from here including Brecon - 18 miles, Cwmbran - 15 miles, Newport - 20 miles, Cardiff - 31 miles and Bristol - 40 miles.
